Born and raised on the Hi-Line, Kevin attended Plentywood High School and graduated in 1977. Among his many accomplishments, Kevin was the State Champion for the 440 yard dash, and part of the 1975 State Champion basketball team.

Kevin chose to continue his education by attending and running for the University of Montana. Kevin received his B.A. in Education, as well as later receiving his Masters in Education and Guidance.

Kevin was then offered a position to teach and counsel students at his alma mater, Plentywood High School. Kevin was a teacher, a guidance counselor, and head track coach for 25 years.

In 1993, Kevin was diagnosed with cancer for the first time. After fighting off cancer in his leg, he was later diagnosed with brain cancer. Through this whole ordeal, Kevin never lost hope, and continued to fight.

In 2006, Kevin was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, a stage four brain cancer. After fighting for 14 months, Kevin passed away on November 5, 2007. Throughout the 14 years of battling cancer, Kevin never ceased to fight. Kevin's determination set an example for everyone that ever came in contact with him. Kevin's Positive Mental Attitude will be greatly missed by all for many years to come.
